WHY I'M RUNNING AGAIN FOR TRUSTEE?

The current biggest challenge of the School Board is financaial which is why the Ministry taken charge of managing the Board. A decision made during collective agreement bargaining around 45 years ago has developed into a huge financial burden for the
Board in the last few years. The Ministry took over control of our board a year ago in order to restore it to fiscal balance. Prior to the takeover, I explained the Board’s situation to School Councils, parents and the community in my monthly newsletters. My newsletters have stopped as the Ministry’s supervisor has instructed trustees to discontinue communicating with our parents and community.
A constant challenge is maintaining and continously improving quality education in our schools. With limited funds available, the Board has to be extra judicious and intentional in deciding how funding is applied for maximum benefit of our students.
As an incumbent Trustee, I have tried to provide the Board a perspective from someone who has 37 years actual experience in the classroom as a teacher and an administrator in various schools of the Board. With your continued vote of confidence, I wish to continue being a voice of experience at the Board of Trustees.

- I have listened to parents, answered question and helped families understand how to get the support they need from the school board.
- I worked to ensure students have the programs, resources and support they need to learn and succeed.
- I brought the concerns and ideas of families in our community to the school b0ard and made sure their voices are heard.
- I worked with parents, school councils, staff and community members to help build strong Catholic schools.
- I took part in important decisions abount school programs, policies (e.g. Flag Policy), budgets and resources.
- I attended school and community events, listened to families and kept our community informed about important school board issues (monthly newletters).
